Floor Cleaning Mission: Arm Yourself with These Tools

living room

You may not notice it that much, but your floors take a lot of beating. Day in and day out, you can have people of all ages walking over them. They all walk differently – some take their steps carefully, or some just like to drag their feet. This is why you invest in protecting your floor.

Solutions are available for different types of floors. For those that have hard surfaces, you can apply urethane concrete sealer. This provides an extra layer of protective coating and also gives out a shiny finish. How do you take care of or maintain your floors? They cover so much ground that you could get exhausted if you do it yourself.

Good thing there are tools available to help you out. Here are devices that you can use to make your cleaning faster.

Floor Polisher

The aforementioned shiny floor can be a pain to clean if you do it by hand. It will be impossible for you to do if you have to cover a large area. For this, your weapon of choice will be a floor polisher. With this, the only thing you need to worry about is applying wax or polishing solution to the floor.

Once you are done with that, you can fire up the polisher and start cleaning. Its large rotating scrubber will have you covering a lot of ground in no time. It is heavy and seemingly puts up a fight the first time you use it. But just put your weight on it, and you should handle it just fine.

You’ll be guiding it along the floor once you get used to it. This is perfect for floors that have a hard surface.

Vacuum Cleaner

Using a broom is an archaic way of sweeping dust and little debris. Keep up with the times by investing in a vacuum cleaner. It may be loud, but it gets the job done in a very quick way. If you have rooms that have carpets, this is the best tool you can use to clean them.

Their thick fabrics can trap the littlest stuff and collect dust over time. The only way you can take these out is by sucking them out with the power of the vacuum. The full-sized vacuum cleaners feature different nozzle attachments. These will mostly get any job done.

But if you are having a hard time reaching smaller spaces though, you can consider getting a hand-held cleaner. You can use this for finishing touches once if most of the work has been done. This way, you can just focus on those little crevices and spaces that you missed.

The vacuum cleaner can still be useful on hard surfaces. This is especially true on light-colored floors, where dirt can be visible. You can also do a quick over of the whole floor as preparation for waxing and polishing later.

It’s better to work smart than work hard, and that is also true when it comes to cleaning. While you may feel that you are missing something when you are not doing it by hand, cleaning the large floor area can only be accomplished with the aid of automatic tools.

Otherwise, you will need lots of extra hands to finish the job for you.
