Apple tree with mistletoe

October 17th was Apple Day, when the nation’s favourite fruit is celebrated. But the future is not looking particularly rosy for the English apple, and fruit juice company Copella would like us to put a bit of effort into saving it. Click through to their site to find out how to claim a free apple tree (if you buy their apple juice), or to register a tree if you already have one in your garden.

They’d also like you to visit your local orchard, and they have a list of the National Trust orchards on their site to help you find yours. They’ve given me two free National Trust family passes to give away. Each one entitles the bearer to take an adult guest and up to two children to the National Trust place of their choice (there are some exceptions, listed on the ticket) and is valid until the end of February next year.

To be in with a chance of winning one of the free passes, simply show your support for English apples by leaving a comment below before the end of October. I will randomly choose two winners, and get in touch by email (so remember to add it in the box provided! Email addresses are not displayed in the comments) to arrange delivery of their prize. PLEASE DON’T LEAVE YOUR ADDRESS DETAILS IN THE COMMENTS – the internet is a strange place and it pays to be cautious with your personal information :)

Congratulations to Gail and Donna – your free passes are on their way!
