Shame it’s about beetles! But the principle is the same for herbarium samples. The type specimens in the Kew herbarium get funky red folders:

Of course, not every specimen collected can be a type specimen, but that doesn’t mean they’re not all wonderful. Have a look at some of the things I saw when I spent a couple of hours in the Oxford University Herbarium at the end of 2011:
