Over the weekend I went car shopping with my parents, as it is becoming increasingly important that I have my own set of wheels. (I did try going locally, but met the rudest bunch of car salesmen you could imagine; the ones in Worcester are much nicer.) As I did some work in the garden last week, I had a batch of plants ready to be taken to their foster garden in Malvern.
So…which plants am I trying to save, in the hope that I will soon have a garden of my own in which to plant them?
The two baby monkey puzzles made it into the first batch, and are pretty obvious in the photo above. They are already seriously spiny. Also in this batch (and if you click through to the Flickr version of the photo you can see each plant labelled) are my rakkyo onions, a Victory onion, an everlasting onion and the mystery Minogue’s onion that I have yet to properly identify.
There’s also my Siberian chives, which have not thrived in this garden, and a couple of pots of saffron (there are more that can go).
Dad has recently erected a fruit cage, and will be coming to collect some of my larger plants to go in it at some point – he has his eye on the two kiwis (Jenny) and the blueberries, for starters.
