Greenhouse and squash

Remember when I went to see Tim and Maddy Harland’s beautiful permaculture garden? Well, a BBC crew also visited them last summer and were bowled over by their mature forest garden full of food and wildlife – and their footage is being broadcast as part of Alys Fowler’s new series The Edible Garden on BBC2 at 8.00 pm on Wednesday 7th April 2010.

Tim and Maddy are the founders of Permaculture Magazine and Permanent Publications, and their garden was greatly inspired by the books Plants For A Future and How To Make A Forest Garden (both permaculture classics). You can buy them postage free from their Green Shopping Catalogue, which also features a wide ranging collection of permaculture and forest gardening books plus many useful titles, DVDs, tools and products to help you live a low carbon, creative life.

You can read a FREE sample digital back issue of Permaculture Magazine via Exact Editions and you can also follow the gang on Twitter or on Facebook, where they regularly post loads of links to free book downloads, useful information and opportunities.

And if you haven’t found it already, you can read Maddy's blog and keep up-to-date with the world of permaculture.
