There’s been a lot of interest in the gardening media over the last couple of years in climate change gardening – preparing now for what could be a warmer future. Of course, here in the UK it’s not guaranteed that the weather is going to be warmer at all. If the Gulf Stream packs up it could be really chilly….
One thing that keeps getting mentioned is that we might be able to grow our own olive groves at home. Up until now I’ve resisted the temptation to buy myself an olive tree (I’m not that big a fan of olives, and processing them into something edible is not a quick process) but I’ve been re-reading ‘Driving Over Lemons’ and then I got an email from Suttons and to cut a long story short there are 3 dwarf olive trees on the way (for just under £12 inc. P&P).
They’re cute :)
