Tea garden

Raymond Blanc is interested in what the commercial world calls nutraceuticals – food plants with medicinal values. The mushroom garden explores that, as does the adjoining tea garden, another new area that is currently being developed.

The idea here is to grow a wide variety of herbs that can be made into tisanes (herbal teas). The gardeners and waiters will be trained in the medicinal effects of the herbs, and when called upon by a guest to brew up a tisane will pop out to the tea garden and pick suitable herbs….

The mental image that conjures up really tickles me, but this is a lovely idea that can easily be scaled down to fit into anyone’s growing space, even if you only have a kitchen windowsill and herbs in pots.
