I’ve had a lot of great moments in this garden over the years (and it’s one reason I will be sad to leave it behind when I move). The chickens were always entertaining, and the plants have been stunning, but the moments I love most are when the local wildlife wanders in and makes itself at home. The most recent visitor was a heron – I’ve seen it before, but never managed to take a good shot. This time I had my zoom lens handy and lucked out with the light. No doubt I would be less thrilled to see him if I was one of the houses on this street with a pond, but it’s certainly true that the more time you spend in the garden, the more chance you have of seeing something stunning!
What has been your greatest garden moment so far this year?
