It appears that my cold stratification technique needs refining. The Myrtus ugni and Randia formosa seeds I sowed in January have gone mouldy. They were in little packets of damp vermiculite. The Arbutos unido seeds I sowed in a pot of compost also went mouldy. They’re all now out of the fridge and have been given the chamomile tea treatment, but I don’t think there’s much hope for them.
The Japanese wineberry seeds which I put in cold stratification in September and brought out in January are just refusing to germinate.
Of the seeds I sowed before the intermission, the aubergines are up and look healthy. The pepinos seem to have rotted.
Today I have sowed some pepper seeds and another batch of pepino seeds.
