Emma Cooper is a freelance writer, photographer and podcaster. An active organic gardener, Emma lives in Oxfordshire with husband Pete, three plastic compost bins, two wormeries and a pair of bokashi bins. There used to be chickens, too, but they have all moved on to pastures new.
Emma loves making compost and growing edible & useful plants in an environmentally-friendly way. Her first book, 'The Alternative Kitchen Garden: An A to Z', covers a wide range of topics from green gardening techniques to unusual edible plants and was published by Permanent Publications in 2009. Emma's second book, 'The Allotment Pocket Bible', was published by Crimson in June 2011.
One of the local cats has decided my window boxes (planted with succulents that haven’t yet grown to cover the whole box) is the best place to sunbathe. Can anyone come up with a catchy caption, before I wander out and make the trough inhospitable with some short sticks?
