Welcome to Day 4 of the Big Green Blog Gathering, an online replacement for the cancelled Big Green Gathering with music, talks, workshops and food. On Day 1 we looked at Water issues, Day 2 was all about Energy and Day 3 discussed Transport.
On the music stage today we have a special performance by the Junkman, who plays on instruments made from recycled materials and junk!
In the Permaculture Yurt the Green Granny is going to tell us all how to save money and avoid waste, followed by the Alternative Kitchen Garden team workshop on How to make leaf mould. And Almost Mrs Average is giving a presentation on how she rose to the Zero Waste Challenge.
Helping out in The café today, Tracey Smith is using up all the leftovers and turning them into her wonderous Rubbish Flatbreads. And for dessert – fruit salad.
In the Permaculture Garden we will be looking at sorrel, and local Master Composters will be on hand to answer your composting queries and turn the heaps.
The Alternative Kitchen Garden Seed Swap in the Permaculture Marquee is offering sorrel seeds today. If you’re in the UK and you’d like a packet of sorrel seeds then email with your proposed swap :)
The Solar-Powered Cinema is showing The Story of Stuff and the Big Green Blog Gathering Green Flash Mob is campaigning against a new coal power station at Kingsnorth with Oxfam. The news on the Big Green Blog Gathering Grapevine is that today is the official launch of Northern Indymedia, and the weather forecast for today is damp, so put those wellies back on!
Keep up with more Big Green Blog Gathering goodies on Twitter, by following the #bgbg tag.
The themes for the rest of the week are as follows:

If you have links and ideas for inclusion then don’t forget to email them to me. I am organizing the Permaculture Area of the Big Green Blog Gathering, but the Big Green Gathering had lots of different areas planned, so feel free to host your own Blog Green Gathering Area and let everyone know what’s going on there!
