Welcome to Day 2 of the Big Green Blog Gathering, an online replacement for the cancelled Big Green Gathering. If you’re a late arrival, catch up with yesterday’s blend of music, talks, workshops and food on a watery theme.

Big Green Blog Gathering: Day 2 – Energy

Sun clock

On the music stage today we are thrilled to have the Autons, with ‘Maybe’ from their album ‘Short Term Manifesto’. They were booked by Tony from Permanent Publications :D

In the Permaculture Yurt Good Energy are offering special sign up deals that will save you money on your green electricity bills, followed by a presentation by the Alternative Kitchen Garden team on Permaculture Basics.

The café will be serving Tomato and basil soup heated through in the solar cooker, with strawberry smoothies razzed up in the bicycle-powered blender.

Achocha

In the Permaculture Garden we will be looking at achocha, one of the lost crops of the Incas, and the SelfSufficient-ish team will be running a workshop on How to make your own solar oven.

Burst

The Big Green Blog Gathering Green Flash Mob is heading over to Free Rice and spending a few minutes improving their vocabulary. The Solar-Powered Cinema is showing a Green TV report about a biomass briquette producer in Uganda, but the news on the Blog Green Gathering grapevine is that greenies are gearing up for the next Climate Camp in Oxford. And the weather forecast for today is for sunshine and heavy showers, so you’ll need organic sunscreen and wellies!
